God Restores

Prayer: Father, You restore those who need restoration. You are the lifter of my head. Amen.

Read: Job 8 key: 9
for we were born yesterday
    and know nothing,
and our days on earth are but a shadow.

Attention: Is all advice, good advice? I have contended before that we need to know the scriptures so that we can discern between good advice and bad advice. We need to know the scriptures so that we know the difference between good theology or bad theology.

Here is an example which I think I have used before. You will hear Christians say, “We are all God’s children.” Is that true? No. According to the apostle John, Yeshua’s statement to Nicodemus was, “unless one is born from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God (3:3).” We must be born again of “water and the spirit.” It would be proper to say, we are all God’s creation, but we are not all God’s children unless we are born again.

Bildad’s advice to Job is this, “if you are pure and upright, even now He will awaken for you and restore your righteous abode.” Remember, Bildad and Job were living in a time of The Law, which was announced in the Pentateuch, which is the first five books of the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy). As Greeks and New Testament believers, we consider the Ten Commandments the Law. The Ten Commandments was a portion of The Law. What the Law proved to mankind, is that one cannot be righteous of their own. The Law showed us we were guilty, not righteous. When God restores us, it is because of our confession of guilt and our repentance, which brings reconciliation with God, and He restores us. We become righteous by Yeshua’s blood applied to our sins. The blood of animals could not accomplish what Yeshua accomplished.

Some might contend that Job was “blameless and upright,” which is claimed of him by God in both the first two chapters. I would ask, is this the same a righteousness? There was no one like him on earth, but was he righteous? Romans 3:10 says, “There is no one righteous—no not one.” We are all in the same boat. We are all guilty under the Law. This was the necessity of Yeshua, an all-sufficient Savior.

Action: I acknowledge Yeshua as the restorer of my soul and the One who makes me righteous.

Yield: I am submitted to Yeshua.

Engaged: I am engaged with the Holy Spirit as He restores and transforms me.

Relationship: He resides in me.

Prayer: Father, I thank You that You see me as righteous. You cast my sin as far as the east is from the west. It is the blood of Yeshua which cleanses me from all unrighteousness. Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 John 1: 7-9

But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of His Son Yeshua purifies us from all sin.

If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
