Grew Louder

Prayer: Father, teach me to worship like the worship given You at the dedication of the Temple. Amen.

Reading: 2 Chronicles 5 key: vs. 13-14 “Then it came to pass that when the trumpeters and singers joined as one to extol and praise Adonai, and when the sound of the trumpets, cymbals and musical instruments and the praise of Adonai—“For He is good, for His mercy endures forever”—grew louder, the Temple, the House of Adonai, was filled with a cloud. The kohanim could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of Adonai filled the House of God.”

Attention: What a scene the dedication ceremony of the Temple was. The writer of the Chronicles captures the essence as the Ark arrives and the presence of God fills the Temple. The people proclaimed in a loud voice, ““For He is good, for His mercy endures forever.” With every repetition, the refrain grew louder.

Only once have I experienced something similar at a Promise Keepers event at the Kingdome (which no longer exists) in Seattle. The acoustics of the dome stadium lent a hand at making the men’s chants magnify and grow louder with each repetition. It was a powerful experience.

The scene described in 2 Chronicles 5 reminded me too of the victory song found in Revelation 19: 1b “I heard something like the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, shouting: “Halleluyah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.” How glorious that will be to hear!

For those who are followers of the Messiah, this will be the type of worship we will experience one day.

Action: I choose to embrace a future participation with a multitude worshipping Messiah.

Yield: I choose to yield my life to the Lord of lords and King of kings.

Engage: I choose to engage in the worship of the Sovereign King of the Universe.

Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.

Memory Verse: Revelation 4:11 ““Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, For You created all things, and because of Your will they existed and were created!” TLV
