Have you not heard?

Prayer: Father, You are my God. I run to no other to hear from You. I run to no other to ask them to talk to You. You are my God and I hear Your voice. You are my God and You hear me when I call. Amen.

Reading: Isaiah 37 key:26-29 vs. “Have you not heard? I did it long ago! From ancient times I planned it. Now I have brought it to pass— that you should turn fortified cities into heaps of rubble. Their inhabitants are weak handed, shattered and ashamed. They are like the grass of the field and green herb, like grass on roofs, scorched before it is grown up. But I know your sitting down, your going out and your coming in, and your raging against Me. Because your raging against Me and your arrogance reached My ears, I will put My hook in your nose, and My bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way that you came.” TLV

Attention: When I read today’s scheduled chapter, I thought of two other biblical accounts. First, was how similar this account to the account of the armies of the Philistines coming against Israel. Daily, their champion (1 Samuel 17:16ff) would walk to the edge of the mountain and taunt the armies of the Living God. David found his strength in the living God. David walked in the courage that Adonai would be with Him and deliver the defiant giant into his hands.

Additionally, we see in the book of Exodus Adonai’s deliverance at the hand of His angel, when He struck every firstborn son and animal in Egypt (Exodus 12:29). Adonai decreed the Passover. All the Hebrew nation which followed Adonai’s instruction were spared. Only Egypt’s firstborn was touched.

In all the accounts, those who taunted and defied the Living God were humbled. What God decreed, He fulfilled. His angel killed 185,000 of Sennacherib’s soldiers in one night. One angel’s actions motivated the king to withdraw his army. He returned to Nineveh, where Adonai’s decree was fulfilled. Sennacherib’s two sons slew him while he was worshipping his god.

Those who taunt and defy Adonai, will experience His wrath, His judgement. I choose to align myself with the Living God, Adonai. I am on the Lord’s side. I choose to be obedient to His Law and Covenants.

Action: I choose today to align with the Living God.

Yield: I choose to yield to the Spirit of God.

Engage: I choose to engage in worship of the Living God only.

Relationship: I choose to live in holy, obedient relationship with the Living God.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the examples in scripture of Your judgement and correction. Bring us back into alignment with Your Word and Law. You lovingly warn us. Help us to listen, heed, and obey. Amen.

Memory Verse: Galatians 6:7-8 “Do not be deceived—God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also shall reap. For the one who sows in the flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But the one who sows in the Ruach will reap from the Ruach eternal life.” TLV
