He Became Angry

Prayer: Father, tough lesson today. Help me glean from Your Word. Amen.

Reading: 2 Chronicles 26 key: vs. 19-20 “Then Uzziah, who had a censer in his hand ready to burn incense, became angry. While he was raging at the kohanimtza’arat broke out on his forehead right in front of the kohanim in the House of Adonai, beside the incense altar. When Azariah the chief kohen and all the other kohanim stared at him, behold, his forehead had tza’arat! So they rushed him out of there. Indeed, he himself hurried to get out because Adonai had smitten him.” TLV

Attention: Allow me to say that anger is an issue for men especially. I have had a short fuse all my life. I know that it is a self-defeating action and the scriptures give us this warning; “Know this, my dear brothers and sisters: let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger— for human anger doesn’t produce the righteousness of God (Jacob/James 1:19-20).”

Anger is also equated with murder: “You have heard it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever commits murder shall be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be subject to judgment. ~ Yeshua (Matthew 5:21-22a).

Pretty harsh words coming from Messiah. There are many ways we can sin, but anger is a harsh way. Since many of us have difficulty in managing our anger (like king Azariah) might I suggest that anger is a spirit and the only way to resolve anger issues is to be delivered from that spirit. You can self-deliver with the help of the Holy Spirit. Call forth the name of the spirit of anger and do it in the name of Yeshua. Repeat the calling forth and the name of Yeshua as long as necessary, but the spirit will be subject to the power of Yeshua’s name, and you will be delivered. Then ask for the Holy Spirit to give you the gift of self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

King Uzziah raged at the priests because they were calling him out for performing a ceremony of incense of which he was not anointed by God to perform. How silly and ignorant. David was a Priest and King, but Uzziah was not. He was in violation of God’s commands, and he paid for it, incurring an uncurable disease, leprosy.

God can judge us and He can cure us. It is in His power to do both. I have witnessed both. I have experienced both.

Action: I choose to obey God’s commands and not bring judgement on myself.

Yield: I choose to submit to the authority and supremacy of God.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit to be delivered from anger.

Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, thank You for loving me. For saving me but not leaving me as I was. Thank You for the transforming work to the Holy Spirit and the gifts which You give. Amen.

Memory Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—against such things there is no law.” TLV
