Prayer: Father, teach Your servant today, to trust and obey. Amen.
Reading: Isaiah 31 key: vs. 1-3 “Oy , those going down to Egypt for help. They are relying on horses, trusting in chariots since they are many, and in horsemen since they are very mighty, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel nor seek Adonai! Yet He is also wise. He brings disaster, and does not take back His words. He rises against the house of evildoers, against help for workers of iniquity. Now Egyptians are men and not God, and their horses are flesh, not spirit. When Adonai stretches out His hand, both he who helps will stumble and he who is helped will fall, and both will perish together.” TLV
Attention: The warnings of Adonai through the prophet Isaiah, are not always pleasant. The word He is giving Isaiah, is that trusting on the military might of Egypt, is a false security, which will result in both nations receiving the judgement of God.
King David, the most respected king of Israel wrote, “Now I know that Adonai saves His anointed. He answers him from His holy heaven with saving strength of His right hand. Some have chariots, some have horses, but we remember the Name of Adonai our God. They have collapsed and fallen, but we rise up and support each other. Adonai, save the king! Answer us on the day we call” (Psalms 20:7-10).
David knew that to call on anyone other than God was to offend God and bring His judgement. God’s 911 is prayer is a call for help.
For the followers of Adonai to call on anyone other than Him is to deny Him His rightful place in our lives. Are you looking to the government to be your deliverer? We cannot legislate our way out of oppression. We cannot legislate a change of heart. Only the Spirit of God can change the heart of mankind.
The answer is being born again of “water and spirit.” These are Yeshua’s words, “Yeshua answered, “Amen, amen I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be surprised that I said to you, ‘You all must be born from above (John 3:5-7).’
Watch who your reliance and trust is in because trusting in anyone other than Adonai, is offensive to Him.
Action: I choose to be obedient to God’s Word and place my 911 calls to Him!
Yield: I choose to submit to the Sovereignty of God.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Spirit of God in being transformed into His image.
Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate relationship with God.
Prayer: Father, in the words of the hymn What a Friend We Have in Jesus, “O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry, Everything to God in prayer!” Amen.
Memory Verse: Psalms 20:7-8 “Now I know that Adonai saves His anointed. He answers him from His holy heaven with saving strength of His right hand. Some have chariots, some have horses, but we remember the Name of Adonai our God.” TLV
