Prayer: Father, hear my requests today for my friends and myself. I ask for health and healing for many today who are suffering from sciatica and various forms of cancer. Be a strong tower today in their lives. Comfort and console them in the name of Yeshua. Amen.
Reading: Deuteronomy 3: key vs. 23-25
23 “I pleaded with Adonai at that time, saying, 24 ‘O Lord Adonai, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand—for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do deeds and mighty acts like Yours? 25 Please! Let me cross over and see the good land across the Jordan—that good hill country and the Lebanon.’
Attention: I can hardly imagine the scene or Moses pleading with Adonai to enter the promised land. In Moses’ own words, “I pleaded” with Adonai. Here is an elderly man begging the Almighty to allow him to enter the land promised to Abram. By his own admission he knows there is not God like Adonai, “for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do deeds and mighty acts like Yours?” Moses witnessed all the mighty acts which God performed through the instrument of his staff. He was God’s appointed man for this time in history. It seems unimaginable to think that he was allowed to see onto the land, but not step foot into it.
Here is also a man who is spoken of numerous times in the New Testament. It is Moses who appears to the apostles on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17: 1-13; Mark 9: 1-13; Luke 9: 28-36), in the Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11:23-29), and Moses’ and Elijah again in Revelation 11. Moses’ is accounted as one of the great men of faith.
Have you pleaded with God about anything? Other men and women of faith pleaded with Adonai. Some received what they pleaded for, others like Moses did not. Are you pleading with God about something today? I am. Please be assured that God will answer every request with either a yes, or a no, or not now. His answer may not be what you desire it to be. We must rely on His wisdom and trust His judgement. May we respond to his answer like Joshua, “as for me and my household, we will worship Adonai (24:15b)!”
Action: I choose today to worship Adonai only.
Yield: I choose to yield my life, heart, mind and soul to Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with my whole heart, mind and soul, my affection for Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to make my relationship with Adonai a lifetime eternal journal.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the assurance of the scripture that tells me (us) that You will never leave me or forsake me (Matthew 28:20b). I never want to be away from Your presence. Amen.
Memory Verse: Exodus 33: 14-16
14 “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest,” He answered.
15 But then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with me, don’t let us go up from here! 16 For how would it be known that I or your people have found favor in Your sight? Isn’t it because You go with us, that distinguishes us from all the people on the face of the earth?”
