I Will

Prayer: Father, when I choose to know Your Word, the Bible, I choose to know You. Thank You for revealing Yourself in Your Holy Word. Amen.

Reading: Exodus 6 key: vs. 6-8
Therefore say to Bnei-Yisrael: I am Adonai, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you to Myself as a people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am Adonai your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. So I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, and give it to you as an inheritance. I am Adonai.”

Attention: Isn’t it great when someone tells you what they are going to do and then keeps their word? It used to be that a man’s word, was his integrity. With Adonai, because His Word spans generations, He remains true to His Word.

I am reminded of one of my professors in college, who on the first day of class, handed us our final exam. On the document was a series of 20 questions. He said, on our final exam day, you will receive the very same document with four of the questions numbers circled. You will be required to write on 3 of the 4 circled questions essay style in a Blue Book. His final words, if you want an “A” on the final exam, you will need to know the information for each question and be able to communicate the theory or principles of Educational Psychology and provide examples of how they can be applied in Christian Education. If you are satisfied with a lower grade, only know parts of the materials and pray that the sheet which is handed to you, has the questions circled about which you know the information.

What professor hands you your final exam on the first day and keeps his word? Adonai in a few verses, declares to the children through Moses, seven key declarations:

*I will bring you out of Egypt
*I will deliver you from bondage
*I will redeem you
*I will take you to Myself
*I will be your God
*You will know that I am Adonai your God, and I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob
*I am Adonai

Adonai told Moses who He is, who He has always been, and who He will always be! I keep my Covenant perpetually, which I declared to your forefathers, and to all their successive generations.

The term which is used of God is “veracity.” He is always true because that is His nature. Another way to say this is, Adonai keeps His promises. Since veracity is the nature of God with the Hebrew children, can we not have the same confidence in Adonai’s consistent nature?

Action: Because Adonai kept His covenant promises to the Hebrew children, I trust the veracity of God in keeping His promises to me.

Yield: I yield my will to Adonai.

Engage: I engage in trusting Adonai with my life.

Relationship: I serve Adonai because He is the Master.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the reminder of Your Veracity with the Hebrew nation. Your faithfulness extends to all generations, including me! Amen.

Memory Verse: Psalm 103: 1-7
Of David.
Bless Adonai, O my soul,
and all that is within me, bless His holy Name.
Bless Adonai, O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits:
He forgives all your iniquity.
He heals all your diseases.
He redeems your life from the Pit.
He crowns you with lovingkindness and compassions.
He satisfies your years with good things,
so that your youth is renewed like an eagle.
Adonai executes justice—
judgments for all who are oppressed.
He made His ways known to Moses,
His deeds to the children of Israel.
