I Will Restore

Prayer: Father, please give me insight and understanding into the prophecies of Joel which You gave Him by the Ruach. Amen.

Reading: Joel 2 key: vs. 25-27 ““I shall restore to you the years that the locust, the swarming locust, the canker-worm and the caterpillar have eaten— My great army that I sent among you.” “You will surely eat and be satisfied, and praise the Name of Adonai your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. Never again will My people be shamed You will know that I am within Israel. Yes, I am Adonai your God —there is no other— Never again will My people be shamed.” TLV

Attention: I have heard this passage quoted as a promise to all people. If we back up to verse 23, Adonai addresses the “children of Zion.” The children of Zion refer to His Hebrew people in Jerusalem, not us.

However, it is God who restores us. Absolutely. Here is what the apostle Peter says, “Stay alert! Watch out! Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, searching for someone to devour. Stand up against him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being laid upon your brothers and sisters throughout the world. After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace—who has called you into His eternal glory in Messiah—will Himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. All power to Him forever! Amen (1 Peter 5:8-11).”

We too will be restored, one day. Through Peter, God promises to restore His people.

Action: I choose to embrace the promise of restoration from God.

Yield: I choose to submit to Your authority over all times.

Engage: I choose to engage with the prophecies of Joel, Peter, and other prophets.

Relationship: I choose to live in relationship with the Supreme God of the Universe.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the promise of restoration. You are the life giver, sustainer, and provider. Help us to stand against the one who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy us. We know that our brothers and sisters around the world suffer in the same ways we do. Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 Peter 5:10 “After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace—who has called you into His eternal glory in Messiah—will Himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.” TLV
