I Will Run to You

Prayer: Father, You are the source of Living Waters. You refresh my soul. I hunger and thirst for You! You quench my thirst. Amen.

Reading: Jeremiah 17 key: vs. 13-16 “Adonai, You are the hope of Israel! All who forsake You will be ashamed. Those who depart from You will be written in the dirt, for they have forsaken Adonai, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, Adonai, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved. For You are my praise. Look, they are saying to me, “Where is the word of Adonai? Let it come now!” As for me, I have not run away from being a shepherd after You, nor have I desired the woeful day. What came out of my lips You know—it was before You.” TLV

Attention: As I prayed, read this passage, and prepared to write, my attention was directed to Jeremiah’s claim that he never ran “away from being a shepherd after You (Adonai).” His response is the opposite of Jonah, who ran from God. I have had my Jonah moment and never felt more miserable and unsettled, until I committed my life to Adonai.

I found a video clip of Derek Prince preaching on “Running away from your calling”, for which I will share a link:  https://youtu.be/EhRPao-3_Qw?si=ZOR5y9eUX9jpjtP6

Jeremiah did not shrink from his calling and gives Adonai the praise! He did not run when the kings, false prophets, priests, and public threatened his life. His trust was in Adonai. His confidence was in Adonai. He was like the tree, “planted by the waters, spreading out its roots by a stream. It has no fear when heat comes, …it does not worry in a year of drought, nor depart from yielding fruit.”

Jeremiah was steadfast. He persevered in the face of the threats to his life. He knew who His Salvation was from. “You (Adonai) are my refuge in the evil day.”

I hope you can claim the same of Adonai, “You are my refuge in the evil day.” Evil is upon us in America. Evil days are approaching. Be prepared. Be steadfast in your resolve. He is our refuge in the evil day.

Action: I choose to declare my trust and confidence in Adonai.

Yield: I choose to live a life of submission unto Adonai.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in staying steadfast.

Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, may we all have a firm resolve to live for You, steadfast in our resolve. You are our confidence. In You we trust. Amen.

Memory Verse: Jonah 3:1-2 “Now the word of Adonai came to Jonah a second time, saying, “Rise and go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out to it the proclamation that I am telling you.” TLV
