Is Adonai among us, or not?

Prayer: Father, the nature of mankind never changes, unless You change it. We are so predictable. We are so much like the Hebrew people. Help my unbelief. Amen.

Reading: Exodus 17 key: 7
The name of the place was called Massah and Meribah, because of the quarreling of Bnei-Yisrael, and because they tested Adonai saying, “Is Adonai among us, or not?”

Attention: How many signs and wonders do we need to believe in Adonai? The Hebrew nation had witnessed ten different confirmations of Adonai’s power and strength and domination of Egypt’s gods. They had witnessed Adonai’s extraction method succeed without a single casualty, His precision striking of Pharoah and his army, how God can use nature as an implement of war, and supernaturally feed an entire nation.

Yet, the Bnei-Yisrael repeatedly claim that Adonai and Moses have collaborated to bring them out into the wilderness to die. How do you feel that our Creator feels when we moan and complain about our circumstances? Do we see the signs and wonders which He creates for us? Do we not see that He alone brings life and is the giver of life? Why do we impugn His character, when the true enemy of our souls is the destroyer, deceiver, and takes life intentionally? Adonai is the true and only giver of life.

Oh, how much we are like the Hebrew children, testing God with our lack of faith and questioning whether Adonai is with us, or not. Perhaps this is a day to ponder and recount the faithfulness of God in your life! I encourage you today to count your blessings and see what God has done for you. We all need reminding and God’s daily Word in scripture is a great way to stay reminded of what He did for the Hebrew nation. What He did for them, He will do for you.

Action: I will take time today to ponder the wonders which God has performed on my behalf.

Yield: I yield my heart to give God the glory!

Engage: I engage with the Sovereign every day when I ask Him to order my steps.

Relationship: His promise is to never leave us or forsake us.

Prayer: Father, how ignorant we are of Your ways and Your character. You are consistently true and faithful, fulfilling Your promises. The lies we hear and believe, are not from You. Protect us from deception. In Yeshua’s name, amen.

Memory Verse: Philippians 2:13
13 For the One working in you is God—both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
