Prayer: Father, teach me today the truths of Your word and character, from the lips of king David. Amen.
Reading: 1 Chronicles 29 key: vs. 10-16 “David blessed Adonai before the whole congregation saying, “Blessed are You, Adonai, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity! Yours, Adonai, is the greatness, the power and the splendor, and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything in heaven and earth. Yours is the kingdom, Adonai and You are exalted above all. Both riches and honor come from You. You rule over everything. In Your hand is power and might, in Your hand, to magnify and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks and praise Your glorious Name. “But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For everything comes from You, and from Your hand we have given to You. For we are sojourners before You, mere transients like our fathers. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, without security. Adonai Eloheinu, all this abundance that we have laid aside to build You a House for Your holy Name is from Your hand; it all belongs to You.” TLV
Attention: I have been honored to witness a couple times in my lifetime, a body of Yeshua followers who for a common cause, gave a free will offering which was extraordinary. Everyone was joyful about the abundance of the giving. It is an amazing thing to be a participant in giving when it is done unto Adonai.
David’s prayer exudes his humility. He and all the people he spoke for, acknowledged that God is the source of “riches and honor.” God is supreme and He “rules over everything.” They were just returning unto Adonai, what was already His. For everything “comes from You.” So, we give You praise! “You are exalted above all.”
Have you ever heard the praise of David used in a song? Have you ever heard the same words hailed by your pastor in a prayer of thankfulness? David’s words are being parroted and rightfully so. God loves to hear the praises of His people. Using the psalms to praise God is appropriate for all followers of Yeshua. Make His praise glorious.
I encourage you today to use a Psalm to express your heart. This is why David is called a man after God’s own heart!
Action: I choose to give praise to the Supreme God Adonai!
Yield: I choose to yield to the supremacy of God in all the earth.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in giving God praise today!
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I praise You for life. For it is You alone who is the giver of life, and every good gift comes from above. May everything that has breath, praise You. For You are worthy of all praise. Amen.
Memory Verse: Psalm 103: 1-5 “Of David. Bless Adonai, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy Name. Bless Adonai, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: He forgives all your iniquity. He heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from the Pit. He crowns you with lovingkindness and compassions. He satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like an eagle.” TLV
