Prayer: Father, teach me today to always seek life which comes from You. Amen.
Reading: Ezekiel 26 key: vs. 19-21 “For thus says Adonai Elohim: “When I make you a desolate city, like the cities that are uninhabited, when I bring the flood upon you and the great waters cover you— then I will bring you down with them who descend into the Pit, to the people of long ago. I will make you dwell in the lowest parts of the earth, like the waste places of old, with those who go down to the Pit, so that you will not be inhabited or radiate splendor in the land of the living. I will make you a horror, and you will no longer exist. Though you are sought for, you will never be found again.” It is a declaration of Adonai Elohim.” TLV
Attention: In my travels across the United States, I have witnessed some barren land which was not good for agriculture and only a few grazing animals could exist. Water was scarce and small towns were miles apart.
I have viewed a few western shows or movies in which a miner or cowboy was stranded in a desert, out of water, and the vultures were flying overhead. The suffering man walks past mages of bones and horns from victims of drought and dessert, bleached by relentless sunlight.
Adonai is not presenting a picture of splendor in a “land of the living.” His creative genius was shown off in the garden of Eden. His sovereignty is shown off in the humiliation of nations once mighty and now desolate.
God can create a nation and destroy a nation. Not only is a nation’s existence at His command, “A king’s heart is like a stream of water in the hand of Adonai; he directs it wherever He wants (Proverbs 21:1).” A nation’s blessing is also predicated upon how they treat Israel according to Adonai’s declaration, “My heart’s desire is to make you into a great nation, to bless you, to make your name great so that you may be a blessing. “My desire is to bless those who bless you, but whoever curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed (Genesis 12:2-3).”
According to the word of God, we can seek and secure Adonai’s blessing or His curse by our actions toward Him and His beloved Hebrew nation. I hope you will choose His blessing.
Action: I choose His blessing and I will bless Israel.
Yield: I choose to submit to the authority of the Supremacy of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in receiving the blessing of Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, why would I want anything less than Your blessing. I have never liked discipline, but I do love Your blessing. Amen.
Memory Verse: Genesis 12:2-3 “My heart’s desire is to make you into a great nation, to bless you, to make your name great so that you may be a blessing. My desire is to bless those who bless you, but whoever curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” TLV
