Moadim

Prayer: Father, You have given appointed times for the end of the ages. Open my eyes to see and understand. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

Reading: Daniel 8 key: vs. 16-19 “Then I heard a human voice coming from between the banks of the Ulai, calling out saying, ‘Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.’ “He came near to where I was standing, and as he approached I was terrified and fell on my face. But he said to me, ‘Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end.’ “While he was speaking to me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground. But he touched me and stood me up, and said: ‘Behold, I am going to inform you about what will happen later in the time of wrath, for the vision pertains to the appointed time of the end.” TLV

Attention: God is the author and creator of time. We see in the book of Beginnings (Genesis) that He ordained (called) “the light ‘day,’ and the darkness He called ‘night.’ The lights of the sky were for separating day from night and “for signs and for seasons and for day and years.”

The Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (HIBD) states that “God is Lord over time because He created and ordained time. God Himself is timeless and eternal.” He is not bound by time as we are.

“The Bible affirms a distinctively different view of time than that of the surrounding culture.” May I insert that the Bible affirms a distinctly different view of time than the culture which surrounds us today. “Scripture frames history with a linear view of time, beginning with creation, continuing thorough history directed by the providence of God, and culminating in the Day of the Lord (HIBD).”

The dream/vision given to Daniel, by the angel Gabriel. If you are not aware, Gabriel appears four times in scripture as a messenger of Adonai. Gabriel is mentioned twice in Daniel (8:15-27; 9:20-27) and he announces the birth of John the Immerser (Luke 1:8-20) and Yeshua (Luke 1:26-38). His appearance over these two periods of time also points to an eternal nature.

Daniel was instructed by Gabriel that “the vision of the evenings and mornings that has been told to you is true, but seal up the vision for it concerns many days from now.” Whether you ascribe to an end time theology or not, our opinion will not preclude the fulfillment of scriptural prophecy. Adonai (God) is the author of time, and the events of Hand will fulfill His purposes.

Action: I choose to pay attention to the vision of Daniel about “the time of the end.”

Yield: I choose to acknowledge God as the author of time and its conclusion.

Engage: I choose to engage with scriptural account of Daniel given through the messenger Gabriel.

Relationship: I choose to live an intimate lifestyle with the living God, Adonai.

Prayer: Father, Your instruction is true. Time is in Your command. Time will end one day when Your followers are called home, at the end of time and the return of the Lord. Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:2 “For you yourselves know very well that the Day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.” TLV
