More Testing

Prayer: Father, may I choose to align with You and Your Word and not compromise by accepting the world narrative. Order my steps I pray, amen.

Reading: Judges 3 key: vs. 1-4 “Now these are the nations that Adonai left, to test all Israel who had not experienced any of the wars of Canaan. It was only in order that the generations of Bnei-Yisrael might learn from war, which they had not experienced before. These nations included the five Philistine lords, and all the Canaanites, Zidonians and the Hivites living in the hill country of Lebanon from Mount Baal-hermon to the entrance of Hamath. They were for testing Israel, to know whether they would obey the mitzvot of Adonai, which He had commanded their fathers by Moses’ hand.” TLV

Attention: It stands to reason, If you live in opposition to God’s Word and commands, one will be slowly lured away from God. Compromise is eventually humbling.

Enough time has lapsed that the current generation of Hebrew children, no longer remembered the battles and war which was required of Adonai to possess the promised land. With time, the peoples of the nations which Benei-Yisrael was to totally dispossess, had repopulated and Adonai now used those people to test Israel.

Rather than continue the process of dispossessing the non-Hebrew nations, we are told that they intermarried, further softening their resolve to obey Adonai. They also began to worship the gods of the nations, which infuriated Adonai.

How does this passage apply to those who have been bought with the blood of Yeshua? The apostle Paul gave this message to the followers in Corinth, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony does Messiah have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement does God’s Temple have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God—just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people (2 Corinthians 6:14-16).”

If we identify as followers of Yeshua, how can we justify marriage with non-followers of Yeshua? To compromise on this biblical truth is to flirt with disaster. Even the wisest man who ever lived, we are told that his foreign wives from pagan nations, turned his heart away from Adonai.

If you are not married and desire to be married. I encourage you to establish with God and yourself, the resolve to only associate with Spirit-filled people of the opposite gender, through whom you only see Adonai.

Action: I choose to learn from the mistakes of others and obey Adonai’s commands & laws.

Yield: I choose to yield to Adonai’s Spirit leading ways, His commands, and His laws.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit is an obedient lifestyle unto Adonai.

Relationship: I choose an to live in intimate obedience to Adonai.

Prayer: Father, I pray to an obedient attitude, listening ears, and a soft heart! Amen.

Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 6: 14 “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?” TLV
