| Prayer: Father, You are my vindicator and my judge. You are my counsel and my advocate. In You I place my trust. Amen. Reading: Psalm 17 key: vs. 1-3 1 A prayer of David. Hear, Adonai, a just plea, listen to my cry! Give ear to my prayer—from lips with no deceit. 2 From Your presence comes my vindication. Your eyes see what is right. 3 You have examined my heart. You searched me at night. Though You test me, You find nothing. I resolved that my mouth will not sin. Attention: Have you ever been wrongly accused? I have. And there is no way to vindicate yourself. This is when, like David, I appeal to Adonia to be my vindication. I can only pray like David, that somehow, in some way, in the future, God will vindicate by avenging or free me from allegation or blame. I have experienced long term effects of a contentious spouse, the residual effects of divorce and the things said by in-laws to grandchildren. It is not fair. It is not right, but hurting people tend to be hurtful, intentional, or not. Life can be brutal. Choose to reach out to Adonai as your vindicator. The options are destructive. Don’t seek to avenge. Don’t embrace an alternative addiction amid your pain but seek the One who is a vindicator. Pray for those who seek to hurt you and allow God to work a miracle. Action: I will pray daily for God to right the wrong and heal the pain in everyone’s life who is involved. Yield: I am yielded when I seek God to do the reconciliation of past and present hurts. Engaged: I am actively engaged with the Holy Spirit in healing me and my adversaries. Relationship: I am actively involved in relationship with God when my plea is made to Him. Prayer: Father, where can I go but, like King David, to You. “Give ear to my prayer,” O’ Lord. Relieve the pain I pray. Return my loved ones back to me and restore relationship. Amen.
