Prayer: Father, may I connect with Your ways and Your thoughts. I desire to align with You. Amen.
Reading: Ezekiel 12 key: vs. 26-28 “The word of Adonai came to me saying: “Son of man, behold, the house of Israel says, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days from now. He prophesies about times that are far off.’ Therefore say to them, thus says Adonai Elohim, ‘None of My words will be delayed anymore, but the word that I speak will be fulfilled.’” It is a declaration of Adonai.” TLV
Attention: As a youngster, my dad discovered my interest in hunting, and he promised to take me hunting someday. Someday never arrived so, years later when my son was interested and ready to hunt, we invited my dad to join us. Sorrowfully, dad turned down our invitation.
If we are not careful, it is easy to fall into a similar impression of God. I have been told much of my life, that the Lord is returning any day. I embrace this promise based on Yeshua’s own words, “In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself, so that where I am you may also be (John 14:2-3).”
By contrast, God is faithful to keep His promises, man has difficulty keeping his. Man has difficulty embracing God because of our wrong and inadequate concepts of who He is. However, the Spirit of God speaking through Peter says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some consider slowness. Rather, He is being patient toward you—not wanting anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).”
Faith is required of us. We must believe like the apostles who tell us His story in the Gospels and Acts of the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul gives us a synopsis of deity and the qualifications which makes Yeshua an all-sufficient Messiah Savior in 1 Corinthians 15:1-8. Each of the apostles except John the Revelator was martyred for his faith in Messiah. Would they die for a lie? They were compelled by the Ruach to share the message of Messiah.
God is faithful and will keep His promises. The danger is when we maintain or entertain a mindset that all prophecy (like those Ezekiel was prophesying to) is way off in the future. Adonai was telling Ezekiel to tell His people; prophetic timelines are accelerating. No longer will there be lengthy periods of time between prophecy and fulfillment. We are entering similar times. Please do not get discouraged and embrace the lies about God’s slowness. His slowness is intentional. He wants to save as many as possible to come to faith in Yeshua and live!
Action: I choose to embrace the acceleration of prophecy and the end times.
Yield: I choose to yield to the Holy Spirit of God.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in receiving prophecy.
Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate relationship with God.
Prayer: Father, You are not slow as some count slowness. You are intentional in all You do. May Your followers be encouraged today by Peter’s account of Your ways and purposes. Amen.
Memory Verse: 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some consider slowness. Rather, He is being patient toward you—not wanting anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance.” TLV
