| Prayer: Father, thank You for a new year. May I see You in ever new ways through creation, Your handiwork, and through Your Word. May I accelerate in my knowledge of You. I desire to go deeper in relationship with You. Amen. Reading: Psalm 1 key: 1-2 1 Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of scoffers. 2 But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai, and on His Torah he meditates day and night. Attention: Happy New Year! Isn’t it wonderful to start the New Year fresh and anew in the Word of God? I am excited about the changes to the Choose Life Journal. Options are good and we all need a dose of divine wisdom every day. I hope that your lifestyle mirrors the words of the psalmist today when he says, “But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai, and on His Torah he meditates day and night.” The law (Torah) of God, is central to our life in Him and with Him. If we battle with His Torah, we battle with Him. Who are you listening to? What is the source of content which you consume every day? Is it all truth? We know that God’s Word is truth. Here are a few scriptures which underscore the enduring “truth” of His Word: Psalm 119:160 “Truth is the essence of Your Word,” Daniel 10:21 “But first, I will tell you what is recorded in the writing of truth,” John 17:17 “Make them holy in the truth. Your Word is truth.” There are many more we could reference. God is the embodiment of truth. He is true and cannot deny Himself. Have you ever heard more lies and disinformation than in the past year? There is a master deceiver who is behind all the lies and schemes. We have access to the Truth, through the Truth giver. I challenge you for the entirety of the year, to significantly reduce or eliminate your usual sources of information and transfer your attention to the Word of God. It matters who you are listening to. You will experience the difference in peace. Action: I will choose the Word of God to be my central source of wisdom in 2022. Yield: I am surrendered when I am listening and meditating day and night on His Word. Engage: I am fully engaged when my lifestyle is built around God and His Word. Relationship: The Word of God is life to me. Prayer: Father, in You I live and breathe and move and have my being. May my life always be centered in You. Hold me secure in Your hand. Order my steps this year. I want to know You more. Reveal Yourself to me. I ask for dreams and visions and the ability to interpret dreams like Joseph and Daniel. I declare that evil and wickedness will be exposed, and satanic institutions will be torn down this year. Bring Your people together, united through a new move of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen. Memory Verse: John 16:13 13 But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; but whatever He hears, He will tell you.
