Prayer: Father, Your ways and Your character are perfect. You require perfection because You are perfection. Amen.
Reading: 2 Chronicles 4 key: vs. 2 & 7 “He also made the Sea of cast metal ten cubits across from brim to brim, perfectly round. It was five cubits high and its circumference was 30 cubits.” “Next he made the ten menorot of gold in the manner prescribed for them and set them in the Temple, five on the right hand and five on the left.”
Attention: When the writer of 2 Chronicles, inspired by the Holy Spirit says, that Huram-abi made the furnishing “perfectly round” and to “prescribed” detail, he means there was an accuracy which came from above. Why would we expect anything differently from a worker who was gifted by God who is perfect.
Living by God’s prescribed standards and maturing in faith are two aspects of the Christian journey. God’s desire for us is that we be “perfect” just as your Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:8).”
Paul provides us this picture of the working of the Ruach in our lives, “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2).”
With the help of the One who is perfect, we strive toward perfection because perfection is what God desires for us.
I hope you will ponder the work which the Ruach is performing in your life. If you are sensitive to the Ruach’s working and allow Him, He will “transform” you according to the will of the Father. The old man becomes the new man.
Action: I choose to allow the Holy Spirit to work the process of transformation in my life.
Yield: I choose to submit to the workings of the Ruach in making me a new man in Christ.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in striving for perfection.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, perfection is an unachievable, unobtainable goal but because Your desire for me is to be perfect because You are perfect, I will strive to be like You. Amen.
Memory Verse: Colossians 1:28-29 “We proclaim Him (Messiah Yeshua), warning and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Messiah. To this end I labor, striving with all His strength which is powerfully at work in me.” TLV
