Purity

Prayer: Father, I am ready to learn, ready to listen. Guide my understanding and thoughts. Amen.

Reading: Numbers 5 key: vs. 5-7
Adonai spoke to Moses saying, “Say to Bnei-Yisrael: Whenever a man or woman commits any sins against any person, thus breaking faith with Adonai, that soul bears guilt. That person is to confess the sin he has committed, make full restitution for his wrong, add one fifth to it and give it to the one he wronged.

Attention: My wife recently participated in a National Pageant. She respectfully, asked my opinion on the dresses and costumes she selected. We both felt that in representing Yeshua, we needed to represent Him by not showing cleavage and an abundance of skin. Some of the costumes and formal dresses pressed the limits if not broke the standards of the stated Pageant rules. The whole event was a contrast of standards of the world and faith. I told my wife we should not be surprised. They are operating under the worlds standards and were who they are.

One of the judges was a former model and another was a former musical entertainer. They are used to a Hollywood standard of beauty and fashion. From the pageant results, they were the most influential of the judges.

We have only One judge and He has set the standard for purity. Anything which is against His standard to right/wrong, or as He determines sin, is guilty and in need of redemption. When we some day stand before Him, there will be no jury or attorney to argue your case. Either you are washed in His blood, or you are not.

In our passage today, a Hebrew went before a priest who rendered a judgement and communicated (from God’s command) the appropriate sacrifice. It was a temporary prescription, which restored a person until the next time they sinned. That is why the role of a priest and the need for continuous sacrifice was necessary. Yeshua’s blood satisfied the need to continually sacrifice (Romans 6:8-11). There is a righteous Judge according to Matthew 25:31-46.

May we strive to live holy, righteous, and pure lives before Adonai, for He has said, “Kedoshim (holy ones) you shall be, for I am kadosh (holy) 1 Peter 1:16.

Action: I choose to live a holy lifestyle because I was called to be holy just as He is holy.

Yield: I yield my right to live as I desire or want. I am called to be holy.

Engage: I cannot live a holy life apart from God.

Relationship: When I live in relationship with Yeshua, I embrace His holiness.

Prayer: Father, I praise You for the blood of Yeshua which cleanses me from all unrighteousness. Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 Peter 1: 14-16
14 Like obedient children, do not be shaped by the cravings you had formerly in your ignorance. 15 Instead, just like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in everything you do. 16 For it is written,
Kedoshim you shall be, for I am kadosh.”
