Prayer: Father, it is You who creates and initiates. It is You who builds and tears down. It is You who restores. Help me to see anew, Your Levitical order. Amen.
Reading: Ezekiel 44 key: vs. 15-16 “So the Levitical kohanim, the sons of Zadok who kept charge of My Sanctuary when Bnei-Yisrael wandered from Me, will draw near to Me to minister to Me. They will stand before Me to offer Me the fat and the blood”—it is declaration of Adonai. “They are ones who will enter My Sanctuary and draw near to My table to minister to Me. They will keep My charge.” TLV
Attention: After cutting the covenant on Mt. Sinai with Moses, Adonai instituted the Tent of Meeting and the Ark of the Covenant. To manage and serve Adonai, His Tent of Meeting, and the Ark of the Covenant, He designated Kohan and Kohanim, High Priest, and Priests, to preform the services for each. Adonai gave Moses all the instructions regarding His Tabernacle (Tent of Meeting), the Ark of the Covenant, His Table, and Menorah in Exodus 25. Additional instructions about the building of the furniture for the Tent, the design of the Tabernacle/Tent, the Levites garments, and how to consecrate the Kohanim are included in the chapters following Exodus 25. The books of Leviticus and Numbers is filled with additional instruction for the office of the priesthood.
In the book of Joshua, when the land was apportioned, Adonai declares through Joshua, “the Levites have no portion among you—for the priesthood of Adonai is their inheritance.” They were given no land because God was their portion. Adonai tapped the tribe of Levi, to be the tribe from which all priests were to come from. Not all Levites were priests, but all priests were from the tribe of Levi.
So, we see the reinstitution of the role of priest (Kohan & Kohanim) given to Ezekiel by Adonai. In addition to the Levitical requirements instituted by Adonai, we see elements of the Nazarite Vow being addressed. The Nazarite Vow was instituted by Adonai to Moses in Numbers 6:1-21. The primary elements regarding not shaving their hair, drinking wine, or touching the deceased.
The Kohanim was set apart by Adonai and dedicated to service unto Adonai.
Today, Messiah is our High Priest and His followers are considered priests, dedicated to Him and His service.
Action: I choose to embrace Messiah as my High Priest and my role as a priest to Him.
Yield: I choose to submit to the High Priest of my life.
Engage: I choose to engage in life with Yeshua as my High Priest.
Relationship: I choose to live in a holy, intimate, obedient relationship with Yeshua.
Prayer: Father, I praise You as the Supreme and Sovereign ruler of the universe. I praise Yeshua as the High Priest of my life and the indwelling presence of the Ruach. Thank You for the assurance of Your presence and a coming resurrection to be dwell in Your presence eternally. Amen.
Memory Verse: Hebrews 4: 14-16 “Therefore, since we have a great Kohen Gadol who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua Ben-Elohim, let us hold firmly to our confessed allegiance. For we do not have a kohen gadol who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all the same ways—yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near to the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need.” TLV
