Prayer: Father, thank You for a new appreciation for the prophets and the office of a prophet. May your modern-day prophets arise! Amen.
Reading: Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you, a righteous one bringing salvation. He is lowly, riding on a donkey— on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” TLV
Attention: Five hundred years prior to Yeshua’s triumphal entry (Matthew 21 & John 12), Adonai decares through the prophet Zechariah the coming of an earthly king who is “lowly” or humble. He will not make his entrance like that of an earthly king, but He will ride “on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
That my friend was written by the hand of a true prophet of Adonai’s. He described Yeshua to the letter, pointing the way of an Anointed Messiah.
Josh McDowell authored a book in 1972 titled Evidence That Demands a Verdict. He and his sons Josh and Sean published an updated version in 2017. While I have not read the latest version, I am assuming that it is beyond the high quality of the original work in providing today’s generation a resource for defending our faith in Messiah Yeshua. If we know the scriptures from A to Z, we will be prepared with an answer of the hope that lies within us.
Action: I choose to be a student of the gospel and know what I believe based on scripture.
Yield: I choose to yield my life to the sovereignty of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage in the daily study of the scriptures.
Relationship: I choose to live in humble, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the scriptures which give me guidance. Your holy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path.”
Memory Verse: Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
