Responsibility Lies with Ourselves

Prayer: Father, May You establish an important spiritual principle with me today. I am responsible for my own sin. Amen.

Reading: 2 Kings 14 key: vs. 6 “However, he did not execute the children of the assassins, keeping what is written in the Torah of Moses, where Adonai commanded saying, “The fathers will not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but each one will be put to death for his own sin.” TLV

Attention: I had not taken notice of today’s scripture until this reading. It caught my attention because it referenced the “Torah of Moses.” A little research provided me the scripture address found in Deuteronomy 24:16, “Fathers are not to be put to death for children, and children are not to be put to death for fathers—each one is to be put to death for his own sin.”

There it is. We are not responsible for the sins of our fathers. Nor are they responsible for our sin. We are each responsible for our own sin. We may repeat the sins of our fathers as we have witnessed throughout the study of 1 and 2nd Kings. All the kings of Israel repeated or mirrored the sins of their father’s. However, each son had to decide for themselves, whether they would obey the Torah or disobey Adonai and follow after the gods of their neighbors.

We have the same decision or choice to make today. Will we obey Adonai through Yeshua Messiah and receive His gift of salvation or reject Yeshua and serve the god of this world. The apostle Paul establishes in his letter to the Romans, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are set right as a gift of His grace, through the redemption that is in Messiah Yeshua (vs. 23-24).”

Personal responsibility is placed upon every person ever born by man. We must be born again by the Spirit of God by placing our faith in the gift given to us by Adonai (God) through “redemption” in Messiah. It is God’s buy back plan. He purchased our salvation through the blood of Yeshua on the cross of Calvary.

Have you received God’s gift of grace, “through the redemption that is in Messiah Yeshua?” There is no other name through which man can be saved. Salvation is only through the name of Yeshua!

Action: I choose today to receive God’s gift of grace, through Messiah Yeshua!

Yield: I choose to yield to God’s plan of redemption through Messiah Yeshua.

Engage: I choose to receive God’s grace gift in Messiah Yeshua.

Relationship: I choose to live in close intimacy with Adonai through Messiah Yeshua, God’s grace gift to all mankind.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the greatest gift ever given to me and all mankind in the person of Yeshua Messiah. Amen.

Memory Verse: Colossians 1:12-14 “we give thanks to the Father, who qualified you to share in the inheritance of the kedoshim in the light. He rescued us from the domain of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son whom He loves. In Him we have redemption—the release of sins.” TLV
