Resurrection

Prayer: Father, You are life and You are life giving. Open people’s eyes to see that You give life and the enemy of my soul seeks to destroy us. Amen.

Reading: 2 Kings 13 key: 20-21 “Then Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabite marauders used to invade the land at the spring of the year. It came about, as they were burying a man, behold, they saw a marauding band, so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. As soon as the man’s body touched Elisha’s bones, he came back to life and stood up on his feet!” TLV

Attention: For those of us who have been weaned on New Testament teaching only, we fail to be aware that bodily resurrection happened in the Old Testament.

What did Elisha possess in death, that just coming in contact with his bones, caused life to spring back into this man’s bones? What enabled Peter’s shadow to heal the sick and infirmed as he walked past them.

It was the Spirit of God, the Ruach Elohim which has been present from the beginning with Adonai. Read the Genesis account. From the onset, we are introduced to the Spirit of God, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was chaos and waste, darkness was on the surface of the deep, and the Ruach Elohim was hovering upon the surface of the water (Genesis 1:1-2).”

We must acknowledge the Godhead, the Trinity. They co-existed from the beginning. Notice how the apostle Paul weaves the Godhead into his prayer give to the community of faith in Ephesus, “I pray that from His glorious riches He would grant you to be strengthened in your inner being with power through His Ruach, so that Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to grasp with all the kedoshim what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Messiah which surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled up with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far beyond all that we ask or imagine, by means of His power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the community of believers and in Messiah Yeshua throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen (Ephesians 3:15-21).”

The Holy Spirit was given to Yeshua’s followers after He had ascended into heaven. The Ruach ha-Kodesh was given and sent to us, by Yeshua as another “comforter.” The Holy Spirit has a vital role to play in the lives of every follower of Yeshua. I encourage you today to allow the Ruach Elohim to be your divine mentor. The One who draws you into all truth (John 14:26).

Action: I choose today to be mentored by the Holy Spirit.

Yield: I choose today to give the Holy Spirit access to my mind, heart, and soul.

Engage: I choose today to live a Spirit-filled, Spirit-controlled life.

Relationship: I choose to live in intimacy with Adonai through His Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the presence of Your Holy Spirit. I am Your temple. Cleanse me. Dwell in me. Use me for Your glory. Amen.

Memory Verse: Romans 12: 1-2 “I urge you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice—holy, acceptable to God—which is your spiritual service. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” TLV
