Prayer: Father, today may I glean from the nuggets of wisdom I find in Your Word. May I hide them in my heart, so that I do not sin against you. Amen.
Reading: 2 Chronicles 15 key: vs. 1-5 “The Ruach Elohim came upon Azariah the son of Oded. He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Listen to me Asa, all Judah and Benjamin. Adonai is with you as long as you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will spurn you. For many days Israel was without the true God, without a teaching kohen and without Torah. But in their distress they turned to Adonai, the God of Israel, and sought Him, and He was found by them. In those times there was no shalom for anyone coming or going, for there were many conflicts among all the inhabitants of the lands.” TLV
Attention: There is a saying I have made about the Choose Life journaling system. Get into the Word, and the Word gets into you. Today, the writer of Chronicles records the Ruach’s conversation with the prophet Azariah as (you are to tell king Asa and all of Judah and Benjamin), “Adonai is with you as long as you are with Him.” In other words, God will not forsake you, it is you who has walked away from God. But “if you forsake Him, He will spurn you.“
The actions of a king and his nation caused God to be absent. “For many days Israel was without the true God, without a teaching kohen (priest) and without Torah. But in their distress they turned to Adonai, the God of Israel, and sought Him, and He was found by them.”
I once saw a bumper sticker which said, “Know God, know peace. No God, no peace.” The words of the Chronicle writer, confirm that “there was no shalom for anyone coming or going, for there were many conflicts among the inhabitants of the land.”
Have you experienced an increase in conflicts in your home, neighborhood, town, state, and or nation lately? Have you ever attributed the presence or absence of God as a factor in the peace or conflicts in your home? Or with your spouse? Even elevated conflicts with your children or work.
God is the author of peace. Our adversary is the author of conflict. Make sure to stay in the presence of God. Seek Him through the scriptures at the beginning of each day. I guarantee this will get your day started off in the right spirit.
Action: I choose to stay near to God so that He stays near to me!
Yield: I choose to submit to the Spirit of God and draw near to God.
Engage: I choose to engage with God in the power of His Spirit.
Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, submissive relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, like the disciple asked of you, teach me to pray! Teach me to heal and deliver people like You did. In the name of Messiah Yeshua, amen.
Memory verse: Jacob (James) 4:7-8 “Therefore submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded!” TLV
