Set My Face

Prayer: Father, I thank You that You are for me and not against me. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel 15 key: vs. 7-8 “I will set My face against them. Even if they come out of the fire, the fire will yet devour them. So you will know that I am Adonai, when I set My face against them. I will make the land desolate, because they have acted so faithlessly.” It is a declaration of Adonai.” TLV

Attention: I can remember a sternness which came over my father’s face if I did something to irritate him. I recall an incident where I was picking on one of my sisters. We were in the living room adjacent to the dining room where dad was doing some paperwork. He called out a warning to me two or three times, and then he came, enforcing his warnings. His face was set. He was not coming to exchange pleasantries.

Ezekiel tells us in chapter 14, that God had communicated His angst with those who had taken “idols” into their heart. They had turned away from Him and towards false gods and Adonai was going to deal with them by setting His face against them. Today He follows through and reminds Ezekiel of His declaration.

I never wanted to push my biological father to anger. I never want to hear a prophet tell me that Adonai has set his face against me. I hope you desire to never hear that God has set His face against you. His longsuffering is great, but God can be pushed to His limit according to Romans 1. where Paul records, “He (Adonai) gave them over” to “evil desires of their heart (vs. 24)”; “to shameful passions (vs. 26)”; “to a depraved mind (vs. 28).”

God’s heart is toward us until He relents and gives you what you want. I encourage you not to push God to that point of no return. May we also not make our land desolate and barren because of our actions.

Action: I choose to embrace the grace and mercy of God.

Yield: I choose to yield to the grace given to me by God.

Engage: I choose to live for Yeshua.

Relationship: I choose to live in relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, I desire to live in alignment with You, Your Spirit, and Your Word. May I come to be conformed to Your image and likeness. Amen.

Memory Verse: Romans 8:28-29 “Now we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” TLV
