Spirit-Filled Craftsmen

Prayer: Father, I find today’s scheduled reading fascinating. Help me to communicate the gifting of the Ruach to all life callings. Amen.

Reading: Exodus 31 key: vs. 1-5
Then Adonai spoke to Moses saying, “See, I have called by name Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make ingenious designs, to forge with gold, silver and bronze, as well as cutting stones for setting and carving wood, to work in all manner of craftsmanship.

Attention: I wish that I would have stumbled on to this passage years ago. It is difficult enough to find one’s way in this world and select a career. In my generation, you were not in ministry if it wasn’t missionary or pastoral callings.

Today’s reading confirms by the mouth of Adonai, “I have called by name Bezalel …, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom,  understanding and knowledge in all kinds of craftmanship, to make ingenious designs, to forge with gold, silver and bronze, as well as cutting stones for setting and carving wood.” This opens all kinds of creativeness in the arts, design of new products and tools, writing music, poetry, and architecture. Why wouldn’t the Creator of the universe, also innately fill his creation with creativeness and creative abilities.

We will observe in 1st & 2nd Chronicles the skillful artisans employed to build the Temple or remodel it (1 Chron. 25:7; 2 Chron. 5; 2 Chronicles 34).

We need Spirit-filled Kingdom builders at every level of education, college professors, financial advisors, seminaries, medical profession, information technology (IT); musicians and politics. We need people who will be salt and light. People who live biblical lives and influence biblical, Spirit-filled thought. We need people under the influence of the Holy Spirit who are influencers in every arena of life.

Action: With the Holy Spirit’s help, I will strive to influence the next generation for Yeshua and His glory!

Yield: I will yield to the Holy Spirit’s leading in my selection of my career path.

Engage: It is the Holy Spirit and me walking together.

Relationship: He is the vine; I am the branch.

Prayer: Father, You provide the inspiration by the Holy Spirit leading each of us into a career path and interest which pleases You. Lead each of us who are struggling to determine their career path today. In Yeshua’s name. Amen.

Memory Verse: Exodus 31: 3a “I have filled him with the Spirit of God.”
