Prayer: Father, please provide new insight into an unfamiliar book. You are so faithful. Throughout the entire Bible You have been faithful to show me many new things of the Spirit. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Amen.
Bible Project: Book of Haggai Summary | Watch an Overview Video (bibleproject.com)
Reading: Haggai 1 key: vs. 13-14 “Then Haggai, the messenger of Adonai, spoke to the people with the message of Adonai, “I am with you!”—it is a declaration of Adonai. Then Adonai stirred the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, kohen gadol, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they came and did work on the House of Adonai-Tzva’ot their God.” TLV
Attention: It is an interesting experience when God stirs your heart to do something for Him. There is a compelling desire to accomplish whatever God has instructed You to do when He reveals it to you. I never imagined that I would found an organization, write and self-publish a book, but when the task is God ordained, He gives you the know-how, zeal, and courage.
I identify with Haggai’s recording of Adonai’s message which he delivered to the people of Judah. He first declared Adonai’s presence, “I am with you!” The presence of God is an all defining key point. God’s presence compelled me to accomplish what He had task me with. His presence gave me the courage to forge forward into uncharted territory. It was God’s presence which “stirred the spirit” of the governor of Judah, “stirred the spirit” of the son of the kohen gadol (the high priest), and the “spirit” of all the people! How do we know? They “came and did the work!”
I hope that you can identify with the people of Judah who accomplished the work as Adonai supplied His presence and Spirit. He will do the same for you. Just ask Him what He wants you to do. He will inspire you to do the work while His presence is with you.
Action: I choose to live in the presence of Adonai while His Spirit compels me to accomplish His will for my life.
Yield: I choose to submit to the presence and zeal of the Holy Spirit.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in accomplishing what I am task to accomplish.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your presence. Where would I be without Your presence? Thank You for providing the zeal, strength, and courage to launch out into unknown territory for You. Amen.
Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 “But as it is written, “Things no eye has seen and no ear has heard, that have not entered the heart of mankind— these things God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God revealed these things to us through the Ruach. For the Ruach searches all things—even the depths of God. TLV
