Prayer: Father, You give good gifts. May I today reflect on the greatest gift You have given mankind. Amen.
Reading: Numbers 18 key: vs. 6-7
6 “See, I have personally taken your kinsmen, the Levites, from among Bnei-Yisrael as a gift for you and your sons with you, dedicated to Adonai to serve in the work of the Tent of Meeting. 7 But you and your sons with you are to maintain your priesthood for everything pertaining to the altar and inside the parokhet. I am giving you the ministry of the priesthood as a gift. Anyone unauthorized who approaches will die.”
Attention: When we think of gifts, we usually think of birthdays, Christmas, Valentines Day, and special occasions like graduations and weddings. However, in chapter 18, God is speaking to Aaron and telling him, I have given you a gift of “your kinsmen, the Levites (priests), and your sons with you, dedicated to Adonai (Me), to serve in the work of the Tent of Meeting.” Adonai goes on to say, “I am giving you the ministry of the priesthood as a gift.”
Do you know that Adonai has given us a gift in His Son Yeshua? This is what the gospel calls, Good News! For those who are born again and those who do not know salvation in Yeshua, this is Good News. The apostle John announces to everyone that “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
As a nine-year-old boy, I was told the gospel message by a pastor who came to visit our family. He pulled a dime out of his pocket and said, “Rolland, if I was to offer this dime to you as a gift, what would you have to do to receive it?” My reply, was to reach out and receive the dime from him. We must do the same with God’s gift of Messiah. We must receive Yeshua into our heart.
The Apostle Paul declares this same message to the Ephesian community, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves—it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).
Have you received the greatest gift ever given? Yeshua stands ready to be received. Just call on His name and you shall be saved (Romans 10:13).
Action: I give praise to Adonai for His gift of Yeshua!
Yield: I give anew, my life and heart to the Messiah.
Engage: I engage with the Holy Spirit in receiving God’s gift of Messiah.
Relationship: Relationship comes with receiving Yeshua as Lord.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of Messiah. This is the greatest gift anyone can receive. The Messiah is the greatest gift ever given to humanity. Amen.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves—it is the gift of God.
