The Life of Every Creature is in His hand

Prayer: Father, the world is in Your hands. The world is Yours! You created it and You own it. You alone spoke the world into existence. All creation sings Your praise! Glorious, majestic, is Your creation. Amen.

Read: Job 12 key: vs. 10
10 In His hand is the life of every creature,
and the breath of all the human race.

Attention: There was an African American spiritual titled, He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands. The song was first published in 1927 and thirty years later it became an international pop hit.

Job today, responded to his accuser friends by showing them how creation tells of the creator, how animals, “they teach you” and birds, “they will tell you,” and the fish of the sea, “they will inform you.” Isn’t it fascinating to think that every creature has a voice? Each speaks, squeaks, chirps, squeals, honks, caws, moos, nays, brays, hoots, toots, snorts, growls, barks, meows, peals, chatters, and bellows.

Something unique to creation is this, it is always obedient! A tree is always a tree. Every animal produces only its kind (except a horse and a donkey). But all creation except man, does what God commands. The wind and the waves, obey His voice. Watch for creation throughout scripture. God sent fire from heaven at Elijah’s request (1 Kings 18:38; & 2 Kings 1:10). He sends hail stones which are one hundred #’s in Revelation 16 in addition to boils, scorching heat, and blood. In Exodus 8:5-24, God sends frogs, flies, and gnats. In the book of Jonah, God send a great fish to swallow Jonah. In Joshua 24:12, God sends hornets to assist in battle. In 1 Kings 13:26, God sends lions to deal with a couple of false prophets. In Ezekiel 13:11-13, God again sends hailstones. In Numbers 21:6, God sends venomous snakes.

Are you beginning to see a theme? Nature and creation are at His command. Unlike man who has free will, creation is obedient. Oh, that we were obedient like the rest of His creation.

Action: I will give Adonai, obedience like the rest of His creation.

Yield: I will give Adonai all my love.

Engage: I will engage with the Holy Spirit in the journey to know Him.

Relationship: I am in His hands.

Prayer: Father, help me to be obedient to You only. Amen.

Memory Verse: Psalm 150:6
Let every thing that has breath
praise Adonai. Halleluyah!
