The Thunder of His Might

Prayer: Father, You are awesome in Your display. The power of thunder is but a tiny fraction of Your might. Show Yourself mighty in this day and hour! Allow the heavens to declare Your wonderous power. Amen.

Reading: Job 26 key: vs. 14
14 Indeed, these are but glimpses of His ways; how faint the whisper, we hear of Him!
Who then can understand the thunder of His might?”

Attention: While you read this chapter today, did you notice all the things which Job recounts of the character of God? Take note:

  • The dead tremble
  • Sheol is naked (exposed) before Him
  • He stretches
  • He suspends
  • He wraps
  • He covers
  • He marks
  • The pillars of heaven tremble
  • He churns the sea
  • He smashed
  • His hand pierced the fleeing serpent

In following chapters, we will see even more differences between God and man. How vastly different the abilities between The Sovereign Ruler of Heaven and Earth and man. Job and we will be exposed to some things we never thought about. I will not spoil the surprise.

I like the statement by Job as he concludes his declarations, “Indeed, these are but glimpses of His ways.” Pay attention to the glimpses. In tandem, these descriptive glimpses produce an awesome picture of God.

It feels like this a suitable time to introduce you to S.M. Lockridge. I was introduced to Pastor Lockridge back in the mid 90’s with a recording of a seven-minute declaration called, That’s My King. If you need an inspirational reminder of who God is, this is the thing to listen to: https://youtu.be/4PQ-tfnAguE

I hope you enjoyed, That’s My King. As you go about your day, remind yourself of who God is. The benefit of daily journaling is that throughout the scriptures, you receive another glimpse of our awesome God.

Action: I will focus on the new scriptural awareness’ of God which Job revealed to me.

Yield: I give God the glory!

Engaged: I am engaged with God when I give Him praise!

Relationship: He is worthy of my praise. I acknowledge His Supremacy when I give Him praise.

Prayer: Father, words escape me, and my emotions overwhelm me when I worship You in Spirit and in truth. Amen.

Memory Verse: Psalm 19:2
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky shows His handiwork.
