Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word, which comes to me each day. Thank You for the wisdom of the word. There in I find life! Amen.
Reading: 1 Chronicles 22 key: vs. 8-10 “But the word of Adonai came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and fought many battles. You will not build a House for My Name because you have shed much blood before Me on the earth. Behold, a son will be born to you who will be a man at rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon and I will confer shalom and quietness on Israel in his days. He will build a House for My name; he will be My son and I will be His Father. I will establish his royal throne over Israel forever.’ TLV
Attention: How many times did your biological father come to you and utter the words, “the word of Adonai came to me” last night. I never had my father talk to me that way and most of you reading today’s journal have not experienced it either. Do I think my father at times experienced guidance from the Lord. I am saying, my father did not acknowledge the manifestations of the Spirit in visions, dreams, or tongues.
This time Adonai did not send a prophet or priest to David. The Lord spoke directly to David. Wow! Have I ever heard my Father’s voice? Yes. And I hope I someday get to share those spiritual things with my son.
David began the organizational task of securing workers of all trades and obtaining the materials (rocks, wood, gems, silver, gold, and bronze, which would be required for building a House worthy of God.
Then David gives a charge to his son, “Then you will prosper, if you carefully observe the statutes and the ordinances that Adonai commanded Moses concerning Israel. Chazak! And be courageous! Do not be afraid or dismayed (vs. 13).”
At the conclusion of his conversation with Solomon, he says, “Now set your hearts and souls to seek after Adonai your God. Rise up and build the Sanctuary of Adonai Elohim so that you can bring the Ark of the Covenant of Adonai and the holy vessels of God into the House built for the Name of Adonai.” (vs. 19)
Fathers may your sons have a father who hears from the Lord God, Adonai and communicates his desire to see them flourish from seeking Adonai.
Action: I choose today to be a father who expresses my love for Adonai, to my son.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in my daily journey with God and His Word.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, obedient relationship with God.
Prayer: Father, You are holy. You alone are God. You alone I serve. You alone I worship. Fill me with Your Spirit. I pray for God planned appointments today! Amen.
