Prayer: Father, I need not despair for You are with me. I have found life in You. My life is Yours. Amen.
Reading: Nahum 3 key: vs. 18-19 “Your shepherds have become drowsy, king of Assyria, your nobles lie down. Your people are scattered on the hills, with no one to gather them. There is no cure for your brokenness, your wound is severe. All who hear the report about you, clap hands over you. For over whom has not passed your constant cruelty?”
Attention: Your medical doctor walks into your room and announces, “There is no cure, your wound is severe.” How do you respond? His professional evaluation is something no one would want to hear. Our physical body is beyond current medical repair. There is no hope.
Imagine the King of Kings announcing that your spiritual condition is beyond hope, you will die unless you repent of your sin. The death He is announcing is not the temporary death which your doctor just announced, but an eternal spiritual condition. How do you respond?
Nation after nation arises and conquers and later becomes the conquered as well. Why does this cycle continue? Is it not spiritual? They worship the gods who oppose the God of all gods, Adonai. How do we not get it? How do we not see it? Even king Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged Adonai’s supremacy; “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, because all His works are right and His ways just. He is able to humble those who walk in pride (Daniel 4:34).”
The Holy Spirit through Paul declares “In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so they might not see the light of the Good News of the glory of Messiah, who is the image of God (2 Corinthians 4:4).” May Adonai open our eyes and the eyes of the unbelieving to the gospel message.
Action: I choose to embrace the sovereignty of Messiah as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in fighting against the evil schemes of the evil one.
Relationship: I choose to live in relationship with the sovereign God of heaven, Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I pray for open eyes of all Your followers and all unbelievers as the god of this world attempts to deceive and blind them from seeing who You are and who he is. Thank You for revealing the true enemy of our souls. May Your light shine through us and reveal the darkness around us. Amen.
