Prayer: Father, I enjoy singing to You. I enjoy singing as a part of my worship of You. I give You praise today! In the name of Yeshua Messiah, amen.
Reading: Ezra 3-4 key: 3:10-11 “When the builders had laid the foundation of the Temple of Adonai, the kohanim, arrayed in their vestments and with clarions, and the Levites sons of Asaph with cymbals, were stationed to praise Adonai as prescribed by King David of Israel. With praise and thanksgiving they sang to Adonai, “For He is good; For His mercy upon Israel endures forever.” Then all the people gave a great shout of praise to Adonai because the foundation of the House of Adonai had been laid. Attention: Some of the most memorable worship services I have experienced have been based around singing and instrumental music. Music is inspiration and lifts our spirits in praise of the One who deserves all praise, adoration, and glory.
The sight of the Temple foundation gave renewed hope of past glory recaptured. This passage of scripture reflects to the time of King David and the “praise of Adonai” which he prescribed. With praise and thanksgiving they sang to Adonai,
“For he is good; For His mercy upon Israel endures forever.”
The more we know God through the scriptures, the higher we will be drawn in praise and worship of Adonai. Music is the avenue through which God’s people have praised Him for centuries and music will continue to be the prescribed instrument of praise till Yeshua returns.
We have included music in the Choose Life Journal for this very purpose. Daily, may our hearts be lifted to Adonai in praise through the medium of music.
Action: I choose today to sing to Adonai as the Hebrew nation did in scripture.
Yield: I choose to yield to Adonai all my praise in song and worship.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in singing my praise to Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the medium of music which gives our voice melodies of praise. I love singing to You. Amen.
Memory Verse: Ezra 3:11a “With praise and thanksgiving they sang to Adonai, “For He is good; For His mercy upon Israel endures forever.” TLV
