Prayer: Father, You were specific with Solomon, with the Hebrew nation, and You are with us. When we do certain things, You will do certain things. Teach us today in Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
Reading: 2 Chronicles 7 key: vs. 13-14 “If I shut up heaven that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, when My people, over whom My Name is called, humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” TLV
Attention: Today’s focus passage is much quoted and preached on scripture. It is a direct communication between Adonai and Solomon which is conditioned on the response of His people. We focus much on the action of repentance, humility, prayer, seeking God, turning from our sin and evil ways, and God’s hearing and forgiving, but little on the resulting actions of God to “heal our land.”
I am not sure I have witnessed a healing of land like the scripture references, but I am aware of the moving of the in the early seventies in a place called Almolonga, Guatemala. Accompanying the healing and deliverance miracles, spiritual (repentance) caused all but three taverns to close, crime rate and divorce rates to plummet, they witnessed an increased economy because God healed their land. Suddenly the agricultural crops increased, and they experienced 2 and 3 crop seasons each year. They began exporting to neighboring countries instead of importing. The move of the Holy Spirit in Almolonga proves 2 Chronicles 7:14, God’s word. Are we willing to put God to the test? This is the answer for every country, especially America.
It is all about the heart my friends. God welcomes us proving Him according to His word. When we humble ourselves and turn from our sin, He promises to hear our prayer, forgive us, and heal our land.
Action: I choose to humble myself, repent, and allow God to act on His word.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of God.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in humility.
Relationship: I choose to live in humble, intimate, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, may we be attentive to Your word, Your whole word and just portions or parts of Your word. I desire to see Your demonstrations of power in the areas of healing, deliverance, and salvation. Amen.
Memory Verse: Hebrews 4:7-13 “Again, God appoints a certain day— “Today”—saying through David after so long a time, just as it has been said before, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So there remains a Shabbat rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered God’s rest has also ceased from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through the same pattern of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword—piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints, and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. No creature is hidden from Him, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
