Prayer: Father, I long for the days which You declared through Isaiah. Speak to me through Your Word. Your servant is listening. Amen.
Reading: Isaiah 17 key: vs. 7 “In that day a man will look to his Maker and his eyes will turn to the Holy One of Israel.” TLV
Attention: While reading today’s scheduled scripture, I was reminded of my visits to Fort Warden Historical State Park in Port Townsend, Washington, located on the tip of the Olympic Peninsula. The military park was built to protect Puget Sound (Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett) from invasion by sea. Fort Warden was one of three forts built in a triangle. Fort Warden was built within sight of a British Royal Navy installation across the sound on Vancouver Island in Canada. It was perceived that the British Naval installation was a potential enemy fortification. By the early 1950’s the fort was deactivated. The advent of military aviation no longer made a fixed location defense necessary (Fort Worden – Wikipedia).
What was once vibrant and strong in the cities or nations, Adonai declares their demise. Each of these nations oppressed and wared against Israel. They also were centers of worship of deities in opposition to Adonai. All were humbled and laid low. Some were prophesied against, never to be rebuilt or inhabited.
Adonai has a great memory. Some of the actions of the aforementioned, dated back to interactions with Lot, Abraham, and Joshua and the entrance of Bnei-Yisrael into the promised land of Canaan.
It is in a time of judgement that mankind looks to his maker like never before. I have heard testimony of worship centers being standing room only during World War ll. War drove people to examine their lives and reach out to their Maker Creator.
Have you reached the point of going low enough that the only direction to look is up? Are you in the midst of a crisis which you cannot face alone? I encourage you to look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Action: I choose to always look to Yeshua as the Messiah, the Holy Son of God.
Yield: I choose to submit to the Supremacy of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in the process of sanctification.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, holy relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I have been brought low like the nations You have humbled in the writings of Isaiah. May all of us become humbled that in due season, we can be lifted up in glorious praise to You. Amen.
Memory Verse: Jacob (James) 4:10 “Humble yourselves in the sight of Adonai, and He shall lift you up.” TLV
