Wandering Aimlessly

Prayer: Father, I remember those days when I wandered aimlessly through life and served my own desires. Thank You for bringing me to my senses and delivering me from myself and the enemy of my soul. Amen.

Reading: Exodus 14 key: vs. 1-4
Adonai spoke to Moses saying, “Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, so that they turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. You are to camp by the sea, opposite Baal-zephon. Pharaoh will say concerning Bnei-Yisrael, ‘They are wandering aimlessly in the land—the wilderness has shut them in!’ I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so he will follow after them. Then I will be glorified over Pharaoh along with all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am Adonai.” So they did so.

Attention: Do you find yourself today with your back against the wall? The enemy is approaching you from every side and seems to have you hemmed in with no way of escape? Is your only way of escape or survival to look up and cry out to Adonai?

This is the predicament the children of Israel (Bnei-Yisrael) found themselves in. The only route of escape was to jump into the water and that would mean death to all, or do they turn and fight? With what would they fight with? They had no weapons with which to fight a well-supplied and trained army.

God told Moses His plan; He would cause Pharoah and his army to pursue the Hebrew nation. His lust for power and dominance would overwhelm him and he would pursue the children of Israel. His people were the bait. Moses relayed the message Adonai gave him with these words; “Don’t be afraid! Stand still, and see the salvation of Adonai, which he will perform for you today. You have seen the Egyptians today, but you will never see them again, ever! Adonai will fight for you, while you hold your peace (vs. 13-14).”

Would those be words of comfort for you? They weren’t for the Hebrew nation. They were terrified. Yet, Moses did as ordered and raised his hands and waved his staff and Adonai delivered His people. He caused a “strong east wind throughout the night and turned the sea into dry land. So, the waters were divided (vs. 21).”

How long does it take man to create a dam to hold back the waters? How long would it normally take soil to dry from being a lakebed? How wide would the waters need to be separated to accommodate 2+ million people plus livestock?

When Adonai performs the supernatural, it is to establish His superiority over man and our enemies. His miracles are so grandiose, that only He could do it. Only He will get the glory! Even our enemies and His adversary declare, “Get away from the presence of Israel. For Adonai fights for them against the Egyptians (vs. 25b)!”

Even Moses declared at the conclusion of this chapter, “When Israel saw the great work (supernatural miracle) that Adonai did over the Egyptians, the people feared Adonai, and they believed in Adonai and His servant Moses (vs. 31).”

We have a nation which stands in need of a deliverance miracle like the showdown at the Sea of Reeds or Mt. Carmel. Will you join me in crying out (praying) for repentance, deliverance, restoration, and healing of our land. Will you choose this day whom you will serve? Will you choose to cry out to Adonai as the only One to restore us?

Action: I choose this day, today, to call on Adonai to defeat my personal enemy and the enemies of this nation.

Yield: I yield to Adonai when I cry out to Him for protection and deliverance.

Engage: I engage with the supernatural when I call on Adonai.

Relationship: Adonai is God, I am His servant.

Prayer: Father, when I keep our relationship in the proper respect and perspective, life goes so much smoother. Amen.

Memory Verse: Jeremiah 33:3
“Call to Me, and I will answer you—
I will tell you great and hidden things, which you do not know.”
