Reading: 1 Chronicles 17 key: vs. 20-22 ““Adonai, there is none like You and there is no other god besides You, as we have heard with our own ears. And who is like Your people Israel—the one nation on earth whom God went out to redeem as a people for Himself and to make a Name for Yourself by great and awesome deeds, by driving out nations from before Your people, whom You redeemed from Egypt? You made Your people Israel Your own people forever, and You, Adonai, became their God.” TLV
Attention: With all the latest news out of Israel, it is important to keep in mind, who they are. David knew and confirmed the relationship between Adonai (God) and His covenant people Israel. “You made Your people Israel Your own people forever, and You, Adonai, became their God.”
The “forever” theme which I wrote about yesterday, prevails throughout the conversation between Adonai and David. God’s love for Israel is perpetual. It never stopped and never will. As a people, they were given an earthly king, and they will one day receive their Sovereign King (Romans 11:13-15).
David makes it abundantly clear whose nation Israel is and why historically, currently, and extending into the future, Adonai will act on behalf of Israel. He will “redeem” them for “Himself and make a Name for (Himself) Yourself by great and awesome deeds, by driving out nations from before Your people, (just as You did) from Egypt!
Just watch Israel with the understanding of who they are to God. That understanding will change Your understanding of Israel and their God Adonai.
Action: I choose to understand Israel in the light of their forever relationship with Adonai.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of God Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with Spirit and God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, help me to embrace Your forever covenant with Israel and those who are following Yeshua. There is none like You! None! Amen.
