Prayer: Father, Thank You for the example of Hezekiah. Teach me today from his life. Amen.
Reading: 2 Chronicles 31 key: vs. 20-21” Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah. He did what was good, right and true before Adonai his God. Every work he undertook in the service of the House of God and in the Torah and the mitzvot to seek his God, he did wholeheartedly and succeeded.” TLV
Attention: What if we approached all that we do for God, like Hezekiah? At the beginning of this chapter, we are told that the Bnei-Israel (children of Israel) we so inspired by the actions of Hezekiah in restoring Temple worship, sacrifices, the role of priests, sanctifying the Temple, returning to Adonai (God), that they went about the towns of Judah destroying all that wasn’t God. They tore down the pillars, high places, and Asherah poles. These were visual symbols of idol worship and gods of nations other than the God of Israel, Adonai.
Imagine that we experienced such a turn around towards God and away from evil. There is such an account in the New Testament. The apostle Paul was in Ephesus and the move of the Holy Spirit against the demonic practices through Paul was extraordinary. The text says that “fear” fell upon the people and they began bringing their books and occultic accoutrements and burning them. “This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, both Jewish and Greek people. Fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Yeshua was being magnified. Many also of those who had believed came confessing and recounting their practices. And many of those who practiced magic arts brought their books together in a heap, burning them before everyone. They totaled the value of the books and found it to be about fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord was growing in power and prevailing (Acts 19:17-20).” TLV
I would like to see my town turn toward Adonai and away from evil practices like this account in Acts. A move of the Spirit like this begins in us first. Are we living before and unto God with our whole heart? I encourage you to begin living for Adonai today. Resolve to live for Him wholeheartedly.
Action: I choose this day to live for Adonai wholeheartedly!
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of God and live wholeheartedly for Him.
Engage: I choose today to engage wholeheartedly in my living for Adonai.
Relationship: I choose today to live in wholehearted relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, Thank You for the example of king Hezekiah. May all that we do and say be done, wholeheartedly for You. Amen.
Memory Verse: Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it from the soul, as for the Lord and not for people. For you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as a reward. It is to the Lord Messiah you are giving service.” TLV
