Prayer: Father, teach me according to the scriptures and the examples of those who hardened their hearts, turned, and ran from You. Amen.
Reading: 1 Samuel 6: 5-6 “So you will make images of your tumors and images of your mice that mar the land, and you must give glory to the God of Israel. Perhaps He will lighten His hand off of you, your gods and your land. Why harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? When He afflicted them, didn’t they send them away so they left? TLV
Attention: Even the Philistines knew in their hearts that they needed to return the Ark of Adonai with an offering. The plague of tumors had followed them from city to city as they moved the Ark. They acquired a fear of God which drove them to get rid of the Ark, rather than repent, get rid of their God and acknowledge the One true supreme God.
God has given us numerous demonstrations of His supremacy, numerous miracles which only He can perform. He sent Yeshua as the Sinless Lamb of God, to die on Calvary. He alone can forgive sin. He alone can redeem us as sinners who are lost and aimless.
The older I get, the more I know that I need Yeshua. He alone is the way, the truth, the life. There is no other way back to God, than through Yeshua. Either we run from Him like the Egyptians and Philistines, or we run to Him. He stands ready and waiting, with arms open wide. And if you have been running all your life, He is waiting for you with open arms too.
It is your choice; harden your heart or humble yourself and turn to Jesus. Some of us have run long enough, hard enough that we finally have gone low enough, that the only option is to look up! I encourage you to choose life today!
Action: I choose to humble myself today before the mighty hand of Adonai.
Yield: I choose to humble myself before Adonai. He is the only God.
Engage: I choose today to engage with Adonai in a lifestyle of humility and obedience.
Relationship: I choose today to stay in close intimate relationship with a Holy Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I humble myself today and turn my life choices and direction over to You. Order my steps Lord. Amen.
Memory Verse: 1 Peter 5:7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time.” TLV
