You are my Father

Prayer: Father, You are my Father. I acknowledge You as my Father through my relationship with Yeshua as Messiah, Savior, Redeemer, and Lord. Amen.

Reading: Isaiah 63 key: vs. 16 “For You are our Father— even if Abraham would not know us or Israel not recognize us. You, Adonai, are our Father, our Redeemer— from everlasting is Your Name.” TLV

Attention: I recently viewed a movie titled, “Show Me the Father.” It is a worthy movie chronicling the importance of the father figure in the formation of our development as a person both biologically and spiritually. Do we know our biological father? Do we know our Spiritual Father? How much does the image of our biological father influence the perceptions of our Heavenly Father?

The Hebrew nation acknowledged their Father in the personage of their God, Adonai. They knew Adonai as their creator, deliverer, protector, and giver of Torah. Through Isaiah, they acknowledged that even if Abraham (forefather of covenant with Adonai)) or Israel (Jacob) we not to “recognize us,” we know our roots are established in You. You are our Father as Sovereign.

Matthew records Yeshua’s instruction to the disciples regarding prayer like this; “And when you are praying, do not babble on and on like the pagans; for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. “Therefore, pray in this way: ‘Our Father in heaven, sanctified be Your name (Matthew 6:7-9).” He acknowledges Adonai as “Father” and instructs us to embrace Adonai as our Father.

The translation of Father is “Pappa, Daddy” and more intimate rendering. The closer your relationship with Adonai, you may choose to call Him “Pappa” or “Daddy.” I know I never called my biological father by his legal first name, but rather dad.

If you embrace Adonai as your Father, consider calling Him Father, or Daddy, or Pappa.

Action: I choose to call Adonia Father from this day forward.

Yield: I choose to show affection for Adonai by calling Him Father.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in calling Adonai Father.

Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate relationship with Adonai my Father.

Prayer: Father, I love praying to You as a loving God and Father. I envision crawling up on your lap and basking in the warmth of Your love and protection. Amen.

Memory Verse: Matthew 6:9-13 “Therefore, pray in this way: ‘Our Father in heaven, sanctified be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ TLV
